I took guitar, bass, drum and keyboard lessons, formed a band and we started writing and recording our own music on tape decks, four-tracks and then ultimately 16-track tape. In 2000 I first experienced a digital audio workstation when we recorded on an early Pro-Tools rig at an old BBC studio in Bristol. I was amazed by the potential of hard disk recording without the limits of physical mixing desks and tape tracks.

I wanted to set up my own studio and was interested in composing music for film and TV, so I enrolled on a BA in Music Composition for Professional Media 2004. I got the best computer I could afford, a cheap sound card, a pair of speakers and a microphone and setup a “studio” in the bedroom of a flat. From there the long journey began.

In 2016 I took my passion onto Youtube and began creating videos about music production, composition, and arranging. This evolved into synthesizer documentaries and film score breakdowns which have proved popular and had recognition from the subjects of the films leading to collaborations with Roland, Arturia, Project SAM, Alan R Pearlman Foundation, GForce Software, Expressive-E and ISLA Instruments.

It is our charge to cultivate and reap excellent knowledge from these unique resources and return it to our members and the world. We do this as a learning center, through research projects, creative endeavors, media programming and tours, enlightening many people along the way. There is so much to be harvested from history and EMEAPP has a key to the vault.

EMEAPP is a private museum, a critical learning center and a multi-media production studio nicely packed into a brick-and-mortar facility outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Tony grew up in both Los Angeles and New York, surrounded by his parents’ musical peers and artistic friends. Their love for the arts inspired within him a deep passion for music and storytelling that, to this day, connects all of his projects together.

As a multimedia artist, Tony seamlessly combines music composing and filmmaking at his own production company. He is also Executor of the Zawinul Estate and Creative Director, Founder, and President of the Joe Zawinul Foundation for Achievement.

In 1993, Tony moved to Milan where he worked on numerous film projects for 15 years. In 2001, he directed Two Years with the Zawinul Syndicate, a documentary following The Zawinul Syndicate, his father’s post-Weather Report jazz band. In 2004, he directed and edited a benefit concert for victims of the Indonesian tsunami, which featured some of Italy’s top music artists. In 2005, he produced, directed and edited the Twenty Five DVD for the band Yellowjackets, as well as two DVDs for Italian musician Eugenio Finardi, Il Silenzio e lo Spirito and Anima Blues. Between 2006 and 2008, Tony produced, directed and edited interviews and concert footage for renowned world and jazz musicians, including Amit Chaterjee, Marcus Miller, Karim Ziad, Etienne Mbappe and T.M. Stevens.

Tony continues to expand his horizons as a filmmaker and is presently in production for the upcoming documentary Joe Zawinul: An American Dream, which seeks to honor his father’s talent, passionate personality, and awe-inspiring career. Another filming venture is This is This: The Incredible Journey of Weather Report about his father’s internationally famous experimental jazz group.

Renzo Torti-Forno is a music producer, electronic music composer and synthesizer expert currently settle in Chile. Under his birth name he’s open to colaborate with other artists, specially singers, to make songs in a more pop-oriented mood. He’s also developing a composer career in electroacoustic field, in which he’s involved since 1987. Under “Le Onde Modulari” name, he’s working on a more personal project, delivering music mostly electronic-instrumental-oriented.
